Vermont 2025
We were so happy to gather for the second Thrymskapr Thing in Beautiful Vermont!
For 2025, we were pleased to be working with Farm and Wilderness which stewards 4,800 acres of forest, mountains and lakes.
The word “thing” in Old Norse means assembly or gathering. Together, 60 of us immersed ourselves into a weekend full of drumming, drum-crafting, rune wisdom, nature and community ritual.
Finland 2025
In Finland we hosted our first Thrymskapr collaboration with renown Sámi artist and master of yoik— Ailloš.
For three days we explored the healing spirit of yoik singing, crafting our own drums, and building community and ritual in the forest of Finland.
Yoik - the ancient Sami singing tradition, and unique form of cultural expression for the indigenous people of Sápmi. This practice has been handed down orally, and survived the religious oppression of the last centuries.

Thailand 2024
In Thailand we spent an incredible two weeks of learning, cultural exchange, ritual practices that fused Northern European and Southeast Asian tradition, and so much fun took place, a scenario beyond our wildest dreams.
We crafted drums together and then, utilizing our own handiwork, learned and shared rhythms carried through ancient times.
Alabama 2024
In an old brick building in Alabama stands a hidden gem, the Lowe Mill. Built in 1900, this impressive brick complex houses Ravenwood, a meadary, shop and lively event space that serves as a major hub for its community.
The history of the region is palpable. Spirits of distant times witnessed our joy and festivities. We would like to think they too reveled in the music, sharing and connection.
Vermont 2024
We gathered in the Green Mountains of Vermont as a council and community for our first Thrymskapr Thing.
